"Creation of man"

Iku Higuchi and Sarah von Puttkammer

September 5 - September 19, 2018

Opening Reception:Friday, September 7, 6-8pm

Wednesday - Saturday 1-7 PM Sunday 1-5 PM and by appointment

Iku's work expresses human evolution, and the field of biological science,
through the unique imaginings of an artist. Evolution of the Spirit and Evolution
of the Human Body are expressed as the origin of human life is described.

S. von Puttkammer was born in Englewood, New Jersey. She received a BFA in Fine Arts
from the School of Visual Arts, graduating with Honors and on the Dean's List.
Her practice revolves around obsession, lust, isolation, and absurdity.
Using her avatar Anchovy, S. von Puttkammer presents the subjects of her obsessions through
paintings and photographs. Her work is dark, claustrophobic, and unapologetic in its depictions of
sexuality and consumption. S. von Puttkammer is also the co-founder of the art activist group
known as Poetic Disorder, a collective that focuses on queer and feminist issues.
